So you like to play guitar? Want to hear some great solo's and improve your playing? Get these albums :)

No 10. Yngwie Malmsteen - Rising Force (1983)

Ahh Malmsteen. Let's play Bach at ten times the speed. Great fun. "Rising Force" is his first album and it's the best!

No 9. Surfing with the alien - Joe Satriani (1987)

Possibly the best guitar album ever written ! Perfection.

No 8. Passion & Warfare - Steve Vai (1997)

Vai comes in and blows the rest of the competition away. Incredible composition and arrangement and playing.

No 7. Guthrie Govan - Erotic Cakes

Incredible album. Guthrie lifts the bar for everyone and provides some jaw dropping technique, great mix of styles and some beautiful music :)

No 6. Greg Howe - Parallax

This guy deserves the kudos that Vai and Satriani have. Incredible and fantastic.

No 5. Cacophany - Speed Metal Symphony

Jason Becker and Marty Friedman produce some incredible music!

No 4. Spastic Ink - Ink Complete

Beneath the low production lies some jaw dropping playing. Featuring the brothers Jarzombek on guitar and drums, prepare for the onslaught!

No 3. BucketHead - BucketheadLand

No 2. Steve Morse - High Tension Wires

I love Steve Morse. Amazing shredding who doesn't shred too much! This album is surprisingly very laid back but with a few rocking tracks in there.

No 1. John Petrucci - Suspended Animation (2005)

Ok, you all know who he is. Solo album just as good as anything DT has ever done :)
