This album completely rocks. Get it. Heavy progressive rock/metal, moody, dark, intelligent. Not depressing at all, just serious.

Moore's vocals fit the mood perfectly. Keyboards are very interesting, with a whole bunch of sounds that I've never heard before. There's quite a lot of effects and production on this CD, but it really enhances the whole feel of the music. It's very atmospheric, and hard to describe.

"shutdOWN" is a great track, maybe pick of the bunch? That's possibly a bit unfair because there are quite a few other great tracks here. The music also provides a bit of insight into what Dream Theater would be like if Kevin hadn't left the band.

This CD came as a nice little booklet, with a bonus CD that contains three extra tracks. The final epic bonus track "The thing that never was", is obviously the original demo that Matheos and Portnoy recorded, which was later split up into a bunch of songs for the CD. I think that this was most likely Moore's idea, and he expands on all of the ideas presented here very nicely on the actual album. There's also a couple of very cool video clips of Portnoy recording his bits in the studio. A great insight into how it works.
